Privacy

The Tech Guy Services is operated by The Tech Group Strategies Pty Ltd (ABN 89 681 519 602). This page describes what happens to your information when you book and when we visit.

What this website itself collects

Nothing. The website is a set of static pages. It has no forms of its own, no account system, no tracking cookies and no analytics scripts at launch. It does not store your name, email, phone number or address — in a database, in your browser's storage, or in web addresses.

The service-area section offers a map. It is not loaded until you press “Show interactive map”. Until you do, nothing is requested from Google and no cookie is set. If you press it, Google Maps loads in a frame and Google may then set cookies and receive your IP address, under Google’s own privacy terms. Leaving the map closed keeps the paragraph above true for your whole visit.

What happens when you book

Booking happens inside a scheduling window provided by Cal.com. The details you enter there — your name, contact details, the service address for a visit, and what you tell us about the problem — are held in our Cal.com booking records and appear in the confirmed appointment in our work calendar (Google Calendar), so the person attending knows where to go and what the job is.

Online support sessions are paid at booking. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card number. Stripe may send you a payment receipt.

Booking for someone else

When you arrange a visit for a parent or family member, the booking asks who is arranging, who is receiving support, the service address, and who should receive updates. We confirm the appointment with the person receiving support before it goes ahead. Arranging or paying for a visit does not give anyone access to the recipient's accounts, passwords or private information — those permissions belong to the person receiving support, and we ask for what the visit needs and nothing else.

Visit summaries

After a visit we write a plain-English summary of what was worked on. It goes to the person who received support, and to a family member only when the person receiving support has agreed to that. Summaries record the job, not the person: no medical information, no diagnoses, no funding details.

Who processes your information

Cal.com (scheduling and booking records), Stripe (payments for online sessions), and Google Workspace (our work calendar and email). Each processes your information to deliver the booking you asked for, under their own privacy terms.

Google Maps is a fourth processor, but only if you choose to open the map described above. It never runs on a visit where you leave the map closed.

SociableKIT is a fifth. The review wall near the top of the home page is a frame loaded from them, showing every Google review, and they may set cookies once it loads. It isn’t requested until you scroll down to it, so if you book without reaching the reviews, nothing is ever asked of them. No other page on this site loads anything from them.

Retention and access

Booking records and visit summaries are kept so that return visits do not start from zero — your service history stays with the job. You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and we will do so unless a record must be kept for tax or legal reasons.
