The Tech Guy · Sunshine Coast

The technology still needs an owner.

Somebody has to hold the domain, the mail, the accounts, the licences and the machines the business runs on. When that person leaves, retires, or was never appointed, the work doesn’t stop. It just stops being anybody’s.

Noosa to Caloundra, with no call-out fee. Remote support anywhere in Australia.

Three shapes this usually takes.

Simplifying

The estate is larger than the company that remains. Licences nobody uses, accounts nobody can open, a previous provider still holding something. The work now is to make the picture small enough to hold.

Getting established

Revenue is arriving through systems nobody owns. Payments are live, mail on the domain is unreliable, and the person who set it up helps when they can. The work now is to put a floor under it.

Growing

The week now has enough in it for a standing hour. A team, a second site, two environments that grew separately, and a machine everyone knows is dying. The work now is to stay ahead of it.

What do you need?

Pick one. We’ll show only what applies.

Defined work, quoted before it starts.

No plan, no commitment. You describe the job, we tell you what it takes and what it costs, and you decide before anything begins.

$160 + GSTper hourQuoted before it starts, so the number is agreed rather than discovered. GST is shown separately, the way you account for it.
  1. 01A project with an endA migration, a new site, a server that has to go, an environment that needs tidying. We scope it, quote it, then do it.
  2. 02Something that brokeMail that stopped arriving, an account nobody can open, a machine that has died. Booked like any other job.
  3. 03A decision you'd rather not make aloneWhat to buy, whether to replace it, whether the thing you were quoted is worth it. Often an hour is enough.
  • No call-out fee anywhere from Noosa to Caloundra. Remote work is the same rate, wherever you are in Australia.
  • Weekends and Queensland public holidays carry $160 + GST for a weekend or Queensland public holiday on-site visit, charged once per visit rather than per hour. It doesn’t apply to remote work.
  • No business surcharge on online sessions. A screen-share costs a business exactly what it costs a household. That’s deliberate: the fastest way to unblock somebody shouldn’t be the option you hesitate over.

Tell us the job. If it turns out a plan would serve you better, we’ll say so rather than bill you by the hour for something that should be standing.

Somebody owns it, instead of remembering it.

The domain, the mail, the accounts, the licences and the machines all need an owner. A plan is for when you’d rather that were somebody’s job than something you keep meaning to get to.

Every plan starts with the same document.

Before anything gets managed, we write down what you have, where it lives and what it costs to keep. That document is the Working Picture. It’s how the work gets done, and it’s yours from the first month, not just on the way out.

Start here

Essentials

$50per user, per month, + GST

The entry plan, and where every business begins.

  • Support when something stops working, and the admin that comes with it.
  • Microsoft kept in order, so licences match the people who actually work here.
  • Advice when a decision comes up, before money is spent on it.
  • The support connection already in place, so nobody has to work out how to reach us.

When the week fills up

Premium

$150per user, per month, + GST

Everything in Essentials, at a higher intensity, with a standing hour that’s yours every week.

  • A standing hour every week, yours whether or not anything has broken.
  • Microsoft 365 administration, and the domain, DNS and mail kept in order.
  • Maintenance and security patches applied to every machine, not left to prompts.
  • Your other providers dealt with by us, so chasing them stops being your job.
  • The environment watched between visits, so problems are found before they interrupt anyone.

When you hold client data

Premium+

$250per user, per month, + GST

Premium, plus the security and backup work that a business holding client records has to be able to evidence.

  • Everything in Premium.
  • Cybersecurity protection running on every machine, not sold as an add-on later.
  • Backup set up and tested, so you know it works before you need it.
  • The written record of your environment kept current, not written once.
  • Reporting you can actually read, on what changed and what it cost.

Which plan is yours

Start on Essentials. Almost everyone should. It covers the things that go wrong and the admin that follows them, and it’s enough for a business where a normal week has no technology in it.

Move to Premium when two things are true. There’s enough happening in a normal week to use a standing hour, and you want the environment watched between visits rather than looked at once something has already broken. If you’re regularly waiting until Friday to raise things that happened on Tuesday, that’s the signal.

Choose Premium+ when you hold data that belongs to other people. Client records, patient details, payment information. The test isn’t how big you are, it’s what you’d have to tell people if a laptop went missing. If the answer to that question worries you, the security and backup work in Premium+ is the part that changes it.

If you’re not sure which describes you, that itself is the answer. Start on Essentials and move when the week tells you to. Nobody is upgraded without being asked.

Term, notice and what happens if you leave
  • The initial term is 12 months. Ending a plan takes written notice, and an offboarding fee applies so the handover is planned rather than rushed.
  • Both are in writing before you sign. The notice period and that fee are set out in the Statement of Work — you see them before there’s anything to agree to.
  • What you keep. The Working Picture is yours. If you leave, you leave with a document that says what you have, where it lives and what it costs to keep — not with a gap where a provider used to be.

30 minutes on the phone and you’ll know what you have, what it costs to keep, and what to do first. Whether that ends in a plan is your call afterwards, not during.

Plan prices are per user, per month, and exclude GST. Work outside a plan is $160/hr + GST, quoted before it starts.

Before any plan starts, it gets written down.

You approve the decisions. Gabriel runs the sequence. You don’t have to hold the order of it in your head, and nothing starts running until the picture is straight.

  1. 01HandoverWhatever the last person held comes across in writing, with nothing assumed. If they've left, we work out what existed rather than guessing at it.
  2. 02Domain and mailWe confirm who actually owns the domain, put the renewals somewhere you can see them, and make sure mail arrives every time rather than most times.
  3. 03Accounts and securityWho has access, what they can reach, and what leaves with them when they go. This is usually the step that finds the surprises.
  4. 04A written working pictureOne document that says what you have, where it lives, and what it costs to keep. You own it, and you keep it even if we part ways.
  5. 05Support readyThe way your people ask for help is set up and tested before they need it, so the first request isn't also the first experiment.

Onboarding is quoted per engagement. It depends on how many people you have and on how much of the picture already exists in writing, so you get a number for your business rather than a number for a category.

If the last person has already gone

This is the common case, not the awkward one. Somebody set it all up, they aren’t here any more, and nobody knows which account owns what.

  • We start from what we can see rather than from what should exist — the domain records, the mail, the licences, the machines that are switched on.
  • Recovering ownership takes time, and sometimes it takes you. Some providers will only talk to the account holder, so there are steps only you can complete. We tell you which ones those are up front, instead of discovering them halfway.
  • You get the picture either way. Even where something can’t be recovered, you end up knowing that it exists, who holds it, and what it would take.

Start with a conversation, not a checkout. An hour is usually enough to know what shape the transition is.

Work in progress.

Three live situations, as they stand today. None of them is finished, which is the point of showing them.

Questions owners ask.

Cost

What does it cost?
Three plans, per user, per month, all + GST: Essentials $50, Premium $150, Premium+ $250. Work outside a plan is $160/hr + GST, quoted before it starts. If we do work you didn’t agree to, you don’t pay for it.
Why is business + GST when a home visit is inc GST?
Business figures are quoted the way businesses account for them, with GST shown separately and claimed back. Household prices include it, because that’s the number you actually pay. Same work, two audiences, two conventions.
Do I need a plan to get help?
No. One job can be booked the same way a household books one, at $160/hr + GST. A plan is for when you’d rather somebody owned it than remembered it.

Choosing a plan

Which plan is mine?
Start on Essentials — almost everyone should. Move to Premium when two things are true: there is enough happening in a normal week to use a standing hour, and you want the environment watched between visits rather than looked at once something has broken. Choose Premium+ when you hold data belonging to other people — client records, patient details, payment information — because that’s the plan where the security and backup work sits. If you’re not sure which describes you, that’s your answer: start on Essentials.
How long am I committed for?
The initial term is 12 months. Ending it takes written notice, and an offboarding fee applies so the handover is planned rather than rushed. Both sit in the Statement of Work, in writing, before you sign anything.

Working together

Who actually does the work?
Gabriel. When a job needs a specialist, you’re told who and why before anybody is brought in.
Someone already helps us. Is that a problem?
No, and often they stay involved. What changes is remit and capacity: somebody becomes accountable for the domain, the mail, the accounts and the licences, and is available when that person is at their own job.
Next step

Start with a 30-minute call.

You’ll know what you have, what it costs to keep, and what to do first. Whether that ends in a plan is your call afterwards, not during.
