How family booking works

You arrange the visit

Their address, what’s happening, and a time that suits them. You can pay at the same time, from anywhere.

They understand and agree

We confirm the appointment with them before it goes ahead. If they’d rather not, nothing happens and you’re not charged.

You can join by phone or video

If they’re happy for you to, you can be on the call while we’re there. You can also leave it entirely to them.

The visit is written down

A plain-English summary goes to them, and to you if they’ve said that’s fine. Nobody has to remember what was said.

At their pace

Take your time. Ask again. Nothing changes until the person receiving support understands what’s happening and agrees to it.

This is a standard, not a courtesy. Questions can be asked as many times as they need asking, changes are explained before they’re made, and the person whose house it is decides what goes ahead. If something is better left alone, we say so.

Who receives what

Arranging and paying for a visit doesn’t give anyone access to accounts, passwords or private information. Those are separate permissions, and they’re theirs to give.

We ask for what the visit needs and nothing else. No medical information, no diagnoses, no funding details.

What happens after the visit

The summary records what was worked on, what is working now, what was explained, any simple steps worth remembering, anything worth following up, and who received a copy.

It isn’t a report about a person. It’s a record of a job, written so that anyone reading it later — them, you, or whoever attends next — isn’t starting from the beginning.

Scams and staying safe

Seniors and older family members get scam calls and messages too, and a polite person is easy to keep on the line. If something feels off, it’s always fine to hang up and check with you or with us first.

  • We'll never call you out of the blue and ask you to install anything. Remote help only starts after you contact us.
  • Only ever start a download from thetechguy.services. We'll never email you a download link.
  • We never type a password on the affected computer. Resets are done from a different device.

Questions families ask

Can I arrange and pay for my parent's visit?
Yes. You book it, you pay for it, and they keep control of what happens in their home. Paying doesn’t give you access to their accounts or private information.
Can I organise it if I live interstate?
Yes, and most family bookings are arranged that way. The visit is on the Sunshine Coast; you can be anywhere.
Can I join the visit by phone or video?
If they’re happy for you to, yes — say so when you book and we’ll call you at the start. You can also decide later.
Will I receive a written summary?
They receive one after every visit. You receive a copy when they’ve agreed to that, which we ask at the time of booking and again if anything changes.
Will Gabriel attend the visit?
The person attending is confirmed in the booking confirmation before the visit. Gabriel attends current appointments. If they’ve had us before you can ask for the same person, and they’ll have read the notes from last time.
Can several problems be handled in one visit?
Usually, yes — and it’s often the reason families book. Tell us everything when you arrange it, and if it won’t fit in the hour we say so before we start rather than afterwards.
What does the visit cost?
$160/hr inc GST at their place, with a one-hour minimum, then counted in 15-minute increments. A weekend, public holiday or same-day visit adds a $160 inc GST surcharge, charged once per visit. There's no call-out fee anywhere from Noosa to Caloundra, and the price is on the booking before you choose a time.
Which Sunshine Coast areas are covered?
From Noosa through Coolum, Maroochydore and Buderim down to Caloundra, including the hinterland towns. If you’re not sure about a suburb, ask before booking. Online support works anywhere in Australia.
